Interiors: Decking the Halls......

....... so while millions of other families embark on a shopping extravaganza today for Black Friday; it is my family's tradition to hunker down in comfy clothes with left-overs and hot cocoa in hand to begin decorating our home for Christmas.  And, while looking online for a little inspiration, I came upon these amazing photos of Boston designer Greg Van Boven's home.  His holiday decorating exemplifies all that I love:
  1. simplicity - the rooms show a significant level of restraint so your eye is drawn to the few choiceful decorations ;
  2. timelessness - seen now or 20 years from now; the decor will still remain relevant and classic
  3. natural - if you really pay attention, you'll notice that there are very few "man made" decorations; the real statement makers are from mother nature herself......berries, poinsettias, amaryllis, red roses, carnations and greenery topped with lots of red ribbon;
  4. a touch of whimsy - the greenery topper on the marble bust, the bells around the reindeer's neck, the staircase votives housed in paper lanterns, and the vintage glass ornaments in planters..... swoon!
See if you don't agree........
